It was a great thing to be a juror for the 20th Flickerfest at Bondi Pavillion.  The films have screened, the awards have been won and now groups of entries will tour Australia so everyone can get a look at the most eclectic short films made in the last couple of years.

All the award winning films are fantastic and easy to recommend.  But other notable entries include the sniper thriller ANA’S PLAYGROUND and a thought-provoking political comedy called DIPLOMACY.

There is no film festival like Flickerfest which showcases just over 100 films selected from more than 1700 entries.  I was so moved and impressed by what I saw in the international competition, I tweeted: ‘visionary filmmakers give us their art – then we’re allowed to keep it and carry it around in our souls forever.’  And Flickerfest gives us access to films that are provocative to watch by filmmakers who have something to say.
